Check my JetBlue schedule change (free)Not every schedule change gives you your money back. The DOT rule sets out what counts as a "significant change". If JetBlue makes one and you don't accept it, you're owed a full refund.
What counts as a significant change
- The departure or arrival moves by 3 hours or more for a domestic flight, or 6 hours or more for an international flight.
- You're moved to a different departure or arrival airport.
- Extra connections are added to your itinerary.
- You're downgraded to a lower class of service.
- Other changes listed in 14 CFR Part 260, such as connecting through a different airport.
What to do next
- Don't accept the new schedule, a credit or a voucher if you want the money back. Reply to JetBlue in writing to reject the change.
- Keep the change email: it shows the original and new times, which is your evidence.
- Ask for the refund to your original payment method. It is due within 7 business days if you paid by credit card, or within 20 calendar days for other payment methods.
Smaller changes
If the change is under the thresholds, the refund rule doesn't apply. You can still ask JetBlue for goodwill, and you're still owed any paid extras (such as a seat you paid for) that they no longer provide.
JetBlue's Customer Bill of Rights also sets out its own delay credits.
Money-back guarantee. If the airline denies your claim within 60 days, we refund your $14.99. See terms
Questions
- How many hours does JetBlue have to move my flight for a refund?
- 3 hours or more for a domestic flight, or 6 hours or more for an international flight, measured against the original departure or arrival time. Other changes, like a different airport or an extra connection, also count.
- What if I already accepted the new flight?
- If you accepted and flew the new itinerary, the refund rule generally doesn't apply to the ticket. Unused paid extras may still be refundable.
- Is the refund automatic?
- Under the 2024 DOT rule, refunds that are due should be issued automatically once you reject the change. The deadline is within 7 business days if you paid by credit card, or within 20 calendar days for other payment methods.
